Rain Bird Rain Sensor
The Rain Bird Rain Sensor is indispensable in all automatic irrigation systems for residential use, as it is designed to monitor rainfall levels and automatically override the controller to prevent unnecessary irrigation cycles. It automatically interrupts watering cycle when rainfall exceeds a pre-selected level.
It has multiple user-set rainfall settings from 3.2 to 20mm and settings can be easily changed by simply twisting a dial. It is resistant to the elements and has a rugged aluminium arm bracket which extends a full 15.2cm. It also has a 7.6 metre long wire which makes it easy to connect the sensor to irrigation controllers.
It works with all 24 VAC output controllers and TBOS, WP products.

Rain Bird SMRT-Y Sensor
This sensor kit includes an in-ground soil moisture sensor and a sensor control user interface. It measures soil temperature and electrical conductivity. Furthermore, it can feedback to irrigation systems which means that it has a water saving feature.
The sensor is corrosion resistant and does not need maintenance- you can just bury it in the ground and forget about it. It takes a soil moisture reading every ten minutes and when the soil is above a set water threshold the watering cycle is suspended. When the sensor detects any dry conditions, the watering cycle will be resumed. This feature typically makes water savings of over 40%.
It has an easy to use interface with touchpad keys, and it displays Absolute Volumetric Water Content (0 to 100%,) soil temperature (in Fahrenheit or degrees Celsius), soil conductivity (in dS/m) and indicates whether irrigation history is suspended/allowed. Up to two independent zones can be isolated from the sensor and there is a sensor bypass key which means the sensor can be easily deactivated.

Rain Bird Rain & Freeze Sensor
These sensors are perfect for 24 VAC residential and commercial irrigation systems. The sensor suspends irrigation when the amount of rainfall exceeds a set threshold. Similarly, it suspends irrigation when the system reaches a programmed low temperature set point. The rain/freeze thresholds can be set and monitored very easily.
Rainfall settings range from 3 to 13 mm and low temperature settings range from 0.5°C to 5ºC. There are three irrigation modes that can be selected (Programmed, Suspend irrigation for 72 hours or Override sensor for 72 hours.) The interface has a 76.2 cm cable which connects to the controller and the wireless sensor communication range is over 90m.
The sensor is reliable and easy to use. It has a simple controller interface with icons which make for simple programming and it has an enhanced antenna which provides signal reliability. It is easy to install and maintain. Batteries can be changed without tools and without needing to disassemble the sensor and it can easily be installed by one person.
For use with 24v mains powered controllers.
